11 February 2020 By

Umbria, the “green hearth of Italy”: half way between Florence and Rome, Umbria is a land able to assemble a thousand facets and a thousand different souls into a single fresco, a blend of man and nature, intense spirituality and secular pride. Every location has a unique identity, the results of millennia of civilisation that have left dense layers of memory and timeless masterpieces throughout the land: Umbrian, Etruscan and Roman first and the extraordinary period of the Middle Ages, and then the Renaissance.

Dotted with medieval towns and silent hermitages, the Umbrian hills offer fascinating sceneries. In Umbria you need to travel a few kilometres to discover places of unspoilt wilderness, with centuries-old beech woods, deep caves, and mountains popolate by ancient legends. And, of course, the water: it rises in springs and mountain lakes, runs in rivers thst carve impressive rocky gorges, and broadens out into wetlands and man-made lakes that are magically transformed into nature reserves.

Lago Trasimeno -Italy’s fourth-largest lake- and Cascata delle Marmore – highiest waterfalls in Europe – all seems to have been created intentionally to inspire poets and painters.

Rome to celebrate your Eternal Love!

Rome, the Eternal city, with its uncounted monuments, churches and art treasures gives the impression to be in a huge museum! The list of things to see in Rome is endless: The Coliseum and the Roman forum; the Pantheon with nearby its elegant cafés and its typical traditional restaurants; the major shopping streets and alleys around the Spanish Steps and so on…

Rome’s gay scene, despite the proximity of the Vatican, is in the last years, becoming equally gigantic. The larger Summer attraction is the Gay Village not far from the city centre. Roman nightlife in Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, along the Tevere river and Via Veneto still retains some of the smart ethos satirised in Fellini’s Dolce vita and designer-dressing up still very much a part of the mainstream scene. Out from the city is an amazing countryside complete with rolling hills, lakes, sea sides, castles and villas that can become the most perfect venue for a dreamy wedding ceremony.

Torre del Lago is an evocative and sparkling LGBTQ Destination!

Torre del Lago is a little village in Versilia area in the north-western of Tuscany, located between the Lake of Massaciuccoli and the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The lake of Massaciuccoli is a protected bird reserve part of the “Magliarino–San Rossore” Natural Park. Torre del Lago is well known in Italy and abroad as the home town of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini, who lived and worked here, creating some of his most famous Opera. Villa Puccini (Puccini’s house)located on belvedere of Torre del Lago, represents a meeting point for opera lovers from all over the world. During the Summer, every year, a Opera festival, the “Festival Puccini”, is organized to celebrate the composer. The area of the village on the sea (Marina di Torre del Lago) is popular for being an important gay and gay-friendly summer destination. The beach “La Lecciona” situated in the Natural Park of San Rossore – Massaciuccoli is the only free beach on the coast of Versilia. It is very few sandy, with characteristically Tuscan dunes covered with vegetation but the Sea Promenade offers gay infrastructure such as bars, restaurants, clubs and discos. For your romantic wedding or honeymoon we suggest the – not far – Historical Versilia: Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi or Seravezza and Stazzema on the hills and mountains of the Apuan Alps.
